Tell Congress: Cut funding for abuses against immigrants!

The federal government wastes more than $25 BILLION each year on jailing, abusing, and deporting immigrants.

We will not stand for the atrocities U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) commits at the border against asylum seekers and throughout this country against our immigrant neighbors. ICE and CBP have taken children away from their parents, abused and neglected people in immigration jails, and allowed hundreds of people to die in their custody. Yet, these reckless agencies suffer no consequences for endangering people's health and safety.

In the United States, every person should be treated with dignity and respect.

Tell your members of Congress to cut funding for ICE and CBP. Instead, we should invest our tax dollars in health care, education, housing, and other vital programs that benefit all of us.

Message:

As your constituent, I am writing today to ask that you cut funding for U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). In the United States, all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I am outraged that our government continues to jail and deport immigrants in my community and people seeking asylum at our borders, and how Congress enables that by funding ICE and CBP at astronomical levels. The federal government wastes more than $25 billion each year on jailing, abusing, and deporting immigrants. Instead our taxpayer dollars should be invested in health care, education, housing, and other vital programs that benefit all of us. ICE and CBP have taken children away from their parents, abused and neglected people in immigration jails, and allowed hundreds of people to die in their custody. Yet, these reckless agencies suffer no consequences for endangering people's health and safety. It is time for Congress to act and stop being complicit in these atrocities towards our immigrant neighbors and asylum seekers at the border. In the next federal budget, I ask you to make dramatic cuts to ICE and CBP's funding and instead invest those funds in programs that strengthen our communities and benefit all of us.
