All additional Giving Tuesday donations today will be matched dollar for dollar up to $15,000 thanks to generous partners Aon plc and Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP!
Your donation to the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) on Giving Tuesday now goes twice as far to help immigrants and people seeking asylum who are arriving in our communities get legal assistance that brings them closer to stability and a life with dignity in the United States. You can help reach the goal of raising $50,000 to help our new community members.
Your support is vital to ensuring we have the resources to continue providing newcomers with a warm welcome, while also building inclusive systems that support people and families who have called our communities home for generations.
Here's what your donation does:
Supports TWO MONTHS of secure phone calls with a lawyer
Provides a legal consultation to keep TWO FAMILIES together
Screens 20 PEOPLE for a workshop to apply for asylum
Files TWO PEOPLE'S applications for Temporary Protected Status
Educates 20 UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN about their legal rights
Defends TWO PEOPLE against deportation
